Pet Taxi Transportation FAQs

We always receive commonly asked questions from our customers. So to make things easier and save time from making calls, we have collected all these FAQs and answered them all on this page.

Q: I need a ride back from the vet, but I don’t exactly know when I’ll need it. Will you be able to pick me up?
A: We do something called a “Will Call”. In instances where you know you will need a ride home but are unsure of the time, this could be a good solution. You can let us know when you’ll be needing a return, and we’ll flag your original reservation to indicate that you’ll be needing a ride back. Just give us a call when you are ready to leave, and we will send you the closest available car. Although there’s a possibility you’ll have to wait a little bit longer, it’s usually never more than 15-30 minutes.
Q: Can I ride with my pet?
A: Yes! You have the option to ride with your pet or let your pet travel alone and leave them in our care. Rest assured that your pet is well-taken care of and will arrive at its destination safely.
Q: Will you take my pet outside of the city?
A: We can take your pet anywhere, whether it’s in or out of New York City. If you need to know our rate, please call our offices or send us an email to get a price quote.
Q: When should I book my reservation?
A: For most cases, 1-2 days in advance are recommended. But you never know when you might need to go to the veterinarian so we do immediate rides if available.
Q: Does my pet have to travel in a crate?
A: If your pet is a dog, then no. Most customers choose to have their dogs lay on the spacious floor of our vehicles clipped in with a safety belt harness. If your pet is a cat, then yes — we require all cats to be transported in carriers.
Q: I need help getting my cat into its crate. Will your drivers help me?
A: Yes/No. You are responsible for coaxing your cat into its carrier. If you want to avoid wait charges, please do this ahead of your scheduled pick-up time, as it can take a while for some cats.
But, if you have difficulties getting your cat into a carrier, inquire about an available “SKILLED” driver for an additional charge.
Q: Will my pet ever ride in a vehicle with another animal while I’m not there?
A: Absolutely not. Riding with Pet Taxi Transportation is like booking a private car for your pets. This is an exclusive van with no other animals in it.
